Every 8 years old dream is sometimes a nightmare but what would happen if your family disappeared for the holidays but you... stayed at home. P-A-R-T-Y I hear you say, that and eating whatever you wanted, when you wanted. So sugar filled goodness. Then throw in some burglars and you having a tactical brain to thwart those bandits and you've got yourself Kevin McCallister.
There is only one man who I usually trust with stop-motion animation and there is only one creator who gave us something awesome in the way of Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice. Add the two together and you get a Nightmare Before Christmas and Henry Selick and Tim Burton's mind fusing together.
It's cheating slightly, a television show that transmits not only on the television but also at cinema. Movie? Well, you can't help us but try. It was that or the Peter Cushing Doctor's. Day of the Doctor seemed more... timey wimey.

He had done Memento, he had begun the Dark Knight and then suddenly he brought us Inception. A dream within a dream within a dream. Could it work? In Nolan we trust.
Aside from the British accent she puts on, Natalie Portman brings V for Vendetta to life, showing the dark and bleak 1983-esque world that England faces, a graphic novel that is potent as ever and a little sprinkling of the Wachowski Siblings. V for Vendetta is the explosion you need for Bonfire Night.
A good horror makes the tension slowly wind up. It gives you a hint as to what to expect, and slowly give you slow bumps in the night before finally ending it with the scare of a lifetime. Paranormal Activity should not be watched on your own or in the dark!
Neil Gaiman's books are amazing. Henry Selick is also a great stop-motion director. So adding both of them together to create Coraline is a wonderful treat!
If Big Brother was on the big screen and turned more gory, you'd have 24 housemates and only one coming out alive. The Hunger Games is just that premise.
Sounds like a bizarre plot, but bare with it, because with Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson it does eventually work out. Oh and Patrick Stewart as well.
